Every girls needs that one sexy black dress

The Little Black Dress – The little black dress is often credited to Chanel founder, Coco Chanel, dating back to 1926. The concept was radical at the time since black was considered a colour for mourning rather than for fashion. Now, the piece has gone on to become a staple in almost every woman’s closet. A classic sheath dress like the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast in Tiffany’s or something more modern like a ace-adorned dress is the great way to go and can be accessorized almost endlessly.

I personally have more than one black dress in my closet. Honestly a black dress can change one’s life, one it makes you look smaller and all the right places, two it gets you the right attention you need. Also styling a black dress is not that complicated but it should not be overdone also.

African Fashion going International

African fashion going international, we are honestly painting the fashion industry with our beautiful print and colours.
Zanjoo is a fashion hot spot for the girl who wants a unique, colourful, exotic, fashion forward wardrobe that accentuates and compliments her beauty and fierceness.  Work It!
Founded by fashion and lifestyle blogger Peeks of the MO-AM Network, the idea was conceived when her and her partner Mr X were discussing the need for a one stop shop that sells all things fabulous, African inspired and complimentary to the average dope girls wardrobe…. so here it is.
The main reason both Mr X and Peeks are excited about this venture is they are embracing their heritage of Nigerian/Yoruba decent. Both have family from the beautiful Lagos area.

Spring 2015

Okay, so spring is here but that does not mean colour blocking right. In this blog we are going to look at what to wear this spring. Shirt dresses are the easiest to style, but it is very important not to overdo it, just pair it up with a pair of tommies or white all-stars.

summer dresses

Summer is finally here, I mean I know am excited to show off my beautiful thick legs, which have become light from all the winter outfits. What’s really fun about summer is that it does not limit you from trying out new outfits and so on. One of my biggest reasons why I love summer is because I can simply wear my summer dresses, it’s as easy is that. I do not stress about any combination of some sort, all I do slip it to that thigh long dress, or that short beautiful floral dress and just pair it up with a cute pair of sandals or all stars. So enjoy summer because it makes fashion so easy.

Who is my favorite fashion icon

So who is my favorite icon, really had question to answer, but it has to Bonang Matheba my Queen B, simply because she is classy, elegant, beautiful and rocks every outfit she puts on I mean you cannot hate on that.
A good description of her success found in the Street Fashion blog,
“From Radio DJ to executive producer at her own entertainment company, Bonang Matheba, better known as "Queen B" is definitely blooming on the South African "It" list this year.  She recently added Top Billing to her success list when she appeared on the lifestyle and travel show as the newest member of the top billing family.  Being the most followed female in South Africa, with a huge following of 316290 twitter followers, already says a bit about her hustle in media and the style icon she has become to many”.

Since this is a fashion blog, I want to get straight into her style choices and who inspires her the most.  According to an interview I've seen recently, her biggest style icon at the moment is Olivia Palermo who's also a huge NYC fashion socialite who dresses to kill.  A part from being dressed by talented SA designer 'Gert Johan Coetzee' for Red Carpet Events, Bonang herself has some serious killer day to day style as she was awarded for 'Most stylish media personality not too long ago.  Being so well known in the twitter verse, she's often tweeting pictures of what she wore, almost daily.  I love that she uses accessories as a main key in her look almost over powering the look itself, but keeping it casual and raw at the same time.

Why women love make up: the little secrete

Makeup is an important accessory that can help you look and feel your best.   Remember your true beauty is what’s on the inside, but it is beneficial to make the packaging pleasant as well.  Your appearance is what attracts people to you, then once they get to know you they can see your heart.  It doesn’t work in the reverse.
It starts with the image you have of yourself in mind.  Then you transform that image onto your face.  The art of applying makeup is tricky business tough. When it is done right, makeup magically conceals flaws and imperfections and enhances your best facial features all at the same time.  Makeup can transform you into any look you want, with infinite possibilities.
Maybe you are the type that doesn’t wear makeup at all because you think you don’t have nice facial features to emphasize anyway.  You might think makeup makes you look sleazy. Or you think because you don’t look like a movie star you shouldn’t wear any?
Well let me tell you that movie stars don’t have naturally great looks either!  Makeup is the key to make a Plan Jane into a Gorgeous Star.
Just look at some of these Stars without their makeup, and tell me they look better than you!   Makeup is a tool, you just need to know how to use it to your benefit.
